SEVERAL South Korean companies have announced expanded collaborations with Nvidia to develop artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, advanced semiconductors, robotics and cloud computing capabilities as demand for AI services continues to grow.
The initiatives involve internet company Naver, telecommunications provider SK Telecom, semiconductor manufacturer SK hynix and industrial conglomerate Doosan Group, which are all pursuing projects aimed at supporting large-scale AI deployment across industries.
Naver said it plans to expand its AI infrastructure using Nvidia's DSX platform, beginning with additional capacity at its GAK Sejong data center in South Korea. The company said the expansion will support AI services for businesses, government agencies and cloud customers, while also supporting the development of its AI models and services.
SK Telecom announced plans to build a large-scale AI cloud platform in South Korea, with its first AI factory scheduled to begin operations in 2027. The company said the infrastructure will support enterprise, sovereign and physical AI applications and could eventually serve customers across Asia.
Meanwhile, Nvidia and SK hynix unveiled a multiyear partnership to develop next-generation memory technologies for AI systems. The companies also plan to use AI tools to improve semiconductor design, simulation and manufacturing processes, including the development of digital twins for chip fabrication facilities.
Doosan Group expanded its work with Nvidia across robotics, power systems and electronics materials. Doosan Robotics plans to integrate Nvidia technologies into AI-powered industrial robots, while Doosan Bobcat is exploring autonomous equipment applications for construction, agriculture and material handling.
Doosan Enerbility is also evaluating power-generation technologies for future AI data centers, including gas turbines, hydrogen fuel cells and small modular reactors. Another Doosan unit, Doosan Corp. Electro-Materials BG, is supplying materials used in printed circuit boards for AI servers and networking equipment.
Separately, Nvidia introduced its RTX Spark platform in South Korea through demonstrations with game developers and esports organizations. Companies including Krafton and NC said they are working to support the platform in future gaming applications.
The announcements underscore South Korea's growing role in AI infrastructure development, spanning cloud computing, semiconductor manufacturing, robotics and digital services.
