Chelsea midfielder Jorginho says he's been happy to adjust his game to suit manager Frank Lampard's system.

On average there are less touches in a game from Jorginho this season but he says his position on the pitch has not greatly altered.

"This season we are playing more with the long balls and with more runs, less short passes," he told chelseafc.com, "so we changed a little bit but the mentality is the same, we press the other team and try to have the control of the match.

"I try to adapt myself for what the coach wants and he does not want too much short passing."

Lampard spoke at the weekend about the leadership qualities Jorginho, who opened the scoring in Saturday's 2-0 win over Brighton from the penalty spot, brings to the side.

"This is not new for me because I was always like this, I always try to do that, to help my team-mates," Jorginho points out. "Not everyone can see that but when someone like Frank Lampard says it, people look for that."
