Former Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill sees no reason why they cannot qualify for the Champions League.
The Midlands club are enjoying an outstanding season so far under coach Unai Emery.
They sit in the top four in the Premier League, but take on treble winners Manchester City in midweek.
The answer is why not? I feel that they have the team, they have certainly got the manager [ Emery]," he stated, per Birmingham Live.
"I think he is one of those that will continue to get everything out of them. That's what he wants to do.
He has been a successful manager and he had a difficult time at Arsenal, but there were a lot of contributing circumstances there. Maybe people think in hindsight that he didn't get a proper deal there.
He goes to PSG and he said he was never in charge, it was Neymar who was actually running the show! There was a bit of difficulty there, but he has come back and he has found the old vocation there at Villa Park and he is doing wonderfully well."
He adds: His record in European football with Sevilla and Villarreal is really, really terrific. I think as well, his English is getting better. It is difficult for any foreign manager and from the first spell at Arsenal.
I think all of those things are improving, he is very, very popular and he is well, well-thought of as a professional manager. He is an excellent manager.
I think he is a good driving force, so why not? They are in a terrific position at the minute and you look at some of the sides you would have expected to be challenging for the top four, Man Utd and Chelsea and so on, so you would say at this minute that they are every bit as good as those sides."
