Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has defended his decision to stick with Fernandinho at centre-back.
Guardiola has decided to continue with Fernandinho despite being able to pair natural centre-backs John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi.
Asked why, Guardiola replied: "Because I like Dino [Fernandinho] in that position.
"Right now, that's why he plays."
And Guardiola shot down the prospects of Fernandinho returning to his favoured midfield position.
He added: "Have you seen the games?
"I prefer Gundogan and Rodri in this position [midfield]."
