Bayern Munich failed in last-ditch attempt to sign Liverpool defender van den Berg
Bayern Munich made a late bid to try and sign Sepp van den Berg.
The former PEC Zwolle player has now put pen to paper on a contract with his new club Liverpool.
The 17-year-old is one for the future, as the Reds look to deepen their squad and build a team that can dominate for years to come.
The Times claims that Bayern did attempt to come in with a late offer, but the deal for van den Berg to sign with the Reds was already done.
Speaking after completing his move, van den Berg said: "It's just an amazing feeling. It is, for me, the biggest club in the world and it's a dream come true. I am really excited.
"I've seen what kind of players from the academy grew into the first team here. It is unbelievable, especially when this kind of big club does that.
"Of course, the trainer (Klopp) is a great guy and one of the reasons they are successful - and also one of the reasons I came here. I think this is the best place for me to grow and hopefully play a lot of games here."
