Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Fabinho won't be seen until 2020 after suffering ankle ligament damage during the Champions League draw with Napoli in midweek.

The club admits the midfielder won't be seen "until the New Year".

Klopp said today: "It's absolute bad news. I have nothing good to say about that. I'm not sure how long it'll take but it's looking like he won't be involved in the Christmas fixtures.

"It was my main problem after the game but we have solutions and replacements for him.

"We can play without him. We are not the only team with injury players.

"We have to deal with it and we will."

Klopp also commented on Arsenal's sacking of Unai Emery.

"I was surprised when I saw the news. That's how the football world is. I have no clue what happened there but obviously the board wasn't happy with the performances and made a decision. That's our life (as manager) when you sign a contract.

"I wish him all the best. He is an outstanding manager and has shown that in many different countries. Arsenal have to find a solution now, there are coaches out there, younger ones, maybe less experienced. Maybe they can take a chance."
