Manchester City hero Paul Dickov has urged fans not to expect too much for the January market.
City are short in defence following their failure to replace Vincent Kompany in the summer, and Aymeric Laporte's serious knee injury coupled with John Stones' persistent struggles has left Guardiola with Nicolas Otamendi as his only fit senior central defender for much of the season.
"Hopefully Laporte will be back soon," Dickov told the Manchester Evening News. "The partnership between Laporte and John Stones, when they played last season and earlier on this season, they looked fantastic together.
"If you look back in recent history with Manchester City, they don't tend to strengthen in January. It can be a dodgy window and I wouldn't really expect them to do that much."
