- Owain Richards, the son of the former sound engineer, indicated that Oasis's management previously entered talks to retrieve the tapes and want the material back in their own possession.
- Littleton Auctions confirmed the band's concerns but maintained the sale is legal, noting that any buyer cannot commercialise the recordings without consent as Oasis hold the intellectual property rights.
