Kota Kinabalu: The government of the Republic of Serbia has invited the Sabah Government to send students to further their studies in the country for the bachelor, master’s and doctorate degrees.
Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Malaysia, Datuk Zulkifli Amin Mamat, said the offer includes costs that would be borne by the republic.
“We wish to invite the State Government to send selected students to Serbia where their studies for the bachelor, master’s and doctorate degrees will be fully funded by the Serbian government,” he said.
According to him, Sabah is one of the states in the country that has special features in terms of interesting places, especially beautiful islands and beaches, which Serbian people can visit.

Zulkifli said the purpose of the visit was to strengthen relations between Malaysia and the Republic of Serbia.
“Today’s visit is one of a series of official visits to state dignitaries to inform about the opportunities that can be explored by both sides, especially for the education and tourism sectors,” he added.
Accompanied by his officer Datuk Jeffry Mohd Ali, Zulkifli also informed that there are currently less than 100 citizens of the republic in Malaysia and most of them are professionals working in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia, Md Shameem Ahsan (right, inset photo), at Sri Gaya in Kota Kinabalu, Monday.
During the visit, they discussed bilateral issues.
Also in the Bangladesh delegation were Counsellor (Labour) Syed Shariful Islam, Counsellor (Political) Farhana Ahmed Chowdury and First Secretary (Commercial) Pranabkumar Ghosh.
