On behalf of AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd or widely known as ARIM, I wish to welcome Yang Berhormat Tuan Steven Sim Chee Keong, our Deputy Minister of Finance, fellow directors, and all present today, to the official launching of AmanahRaya Syariah Income Fund, ARSIF.
As a brief introduction, ARIM, a wholly owned subsidiary of Amanah Raya Berhad, was incorporated on 24 July 1994. Since its inception as the main investment arm of AmanahRaya, ARIM has grown through leaps and bounds, through the boom and bust of the financial market.
In 2022, ARIM was awarded the Best Malaysia Bond Fund and Best Malaysia Islamic Bond Fund in the annual Morningstar Fund Award. ARIM also won the Best Bond Fund for the 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year categories for both Islamic and Conventional, at the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards 2022.
Today, ARIM has reached another milestone with the launching of its seventh unit trust fund, AmanahRaya Syariah Income Fund, ARSIF.
By way of background, subsequent to the approval by the Securities Commission Malaysia, ARIM introduced its new Sukuk fund, AmanahRaya Syariah Income Fund on 5 May 2022. Since commencement, the fund has grown in size, crossing the RM200 million mark.
ARSIF provides access to a diversified portfolio of fixed-income assets that are difficult to be replicated individually. With monthly income distributions, investors enjoy a continuous stream of income every month with the flexibility to exit the investments at any desired point in time. Furthermore, with a view to spur fixed-income unit trusts investments, the income distributions earned by investors are tax-exempted under the Government’s special initiatives.
ARSIF invests in short-term to medium-term Islamic bonds with maturities of less than five (5) years. Layered on top is stringent credit checks which make ARSIF a low-risk investment given its minimal volatility. Hence, ARSIF appeals as an attractive investment solution best suited for investors with low to medium-risk profiles.
