Oil firms again hike fuel prices

OIL firms imposed steep price increases on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Shell announced a P5.70 per liter markup for gasoline, P4.40 for diesel, and P4.60 for kerosene.

Seaoil raised the per-liter price of its gasoline by P5.68, diesel by P4.31, and kerosene by P4.62 per liter.

PetroGazz jacked up the price of gasoline by P5.68 and diesel by P4.31.

Last week, diesel rose by as much as P5.18 per liter, gasoline by P4.69 per liter, and kerosene prices by P5.58 per liter.

The Department of Energy (DOE) said the substantial increase is due mostly to the global market reacting to the continuing tensions in the Middle East and Ukraine’s attacks on Russia.
