
Kota Kinabalu: Three people were killed and another suffered burns when a two-storey house at Kg Darau, Menggatal, was destroyed by fire early Friday.
The Fire and Rescue Department said the charred remains of two women, aged 67 and 29, and a 53-year-old man were found at the scene.
A 34-year-old man who suffered burns was taken to hospital by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit for further treatment.
The department received the emergency call at 1.43am and firefighters arrived seven minutes later to find the 40-by-40-foot non-permanent house completely engulfed.
The fire was brought under control at 2.10am, with the operation involving 17 personnel ending at 5.19am.
