KOTA KINABALU: Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong (pic) has announced the establishment of a One Stop Labour Service Centre in Sabah to streamline access to employment-related services under one roof.

He said the initiative, part of the Ministry’s broader expansion plan following pilot centres in Penang, Klang Valley, and Johor Bahru, is expected to be realised in the coming months.

Sim also lauded the Sabah Medical Services Union (SMSU) for its decades-long contribution to workers’ welfare, especially in the health sector, and acknowledged their sacrifices during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the recent visit, he also confirmed increased grants to SMSU, welcomed new appointments to the Sabah and national labour councils and urged union membership growth to strengthen workers’ collective bargaining power.
