Kota Kinabalu: Four months of police investigations led to the downfall of an online gambling call centre dubbed “Victory Kenny” operating out of an apartment in Benoni Garden in Papar earlier this month.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said nine men including one foreigner aged between 19 and 31 years old were arrested in the 8.15pm raid on Oct 3.
Seized were computers, mobile phones, ATM cards and wifi modems estimated to be worth RM20,000.
“The syndicate targeted Malaysians especially Sabahans. Their method of communication between operators and customers was through social media applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook," Jauteh told reporters.
