Kota Kinabalu: Only eight tourism operators from Sabah obtained the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) out of the 90 being accredited nationwide, said Tourism Malaysia Sabah Director Haryanty Abu Bakar.
She said MyTQA is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) to improve the service and quality of facilities for tourism products in Malaysia.
“Motac will work together with the Sabah Tourism Board and local authorities to encourage more tourism operators to obtain the MyTQA accreditation to uplift their standards in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2025,” she said after presenting the accreditation to six recipients for Sabah at a shopping mall.
MyTQA is a recognition of tourism products and provides exposure to industry players, encouraging them to prioritise the quality of services provided, she said.
