The anti-terror operation codenamed Operation Sheruwali entered its 32nd day on Monday, with security forces continuing extensive search and surveillance operations in the Dorimal-Gambir Mughlan area of the Manjakote sector in Rajouri district.
Launched in late May, the multi-agency counter-terrorism operation is aimed at locating and neutralising suspected armed infiltrators believed to be hiding in the dense forested and mountainous terrain of the region.
Officials said all security agencies involved in the operation remain on high alert, with combing operations underway to track any suspicious movement and ensure the safety of local residents.
The operation is progressing as planned, with forces maintaining heightened vigilance across the area, officials added.
“Security forces remain alert and committed to maintaining peace and security in the region. Additional checkpoints and area domination patrols are also being conducted as part of the ongoing efforts,” an official said.
The prolonged operation underscores the determination of security forces to eliminate any potential threat and maintain security in the border district.
