For agreeing to a settlement in your defamation suit against Zuraida Kamaruddin who merely tendered an open court apology and retract the statements she had made against you with no costs.
For years, politicians have been making nonsensical claims and statements against each other.
The mantra is always issue highly defamatory and false and baseless accusations first.
Even when legal actions are taken by the offended party, the accusers still refused to retract their statements.
They agreed to retract only after wasting a lot of public resources i.e the court’s time.
Enough Malaysians are educated enough now to see through the “cow manure” that comes out of the mouth of some of these politicians.
It is still same old, same old shit these politicians have been trying to sell i.e make accusatory statements first regardless.
Truth is out the window.
Let the suits be filed.
Maintain a defiant posture in public and for their supporters if asked by the offended party to withdraw their statement or be sued.
Then by the time the matter is scheduled for litigation, beg for forgiveness and ask for leniency.
For sure the offended party will agree to a settlement with just an open court apology that is generally picked up in a small section of the media and by that time, their supporters would have move on and forgotten the baseless accusations made.
Datuk Seri Saifuddin is not the first and won’t be the last politician to sue and agree to a settlement of just an open apology.
There are many others.
It is time that politicians in this country take thing to the next level for such damning and accusatory characteristic prevalent in our politicians.
Get those who impugn your integrity to justify their allegations.
Politicians must be prepared for a robust criticism.
Make it known publicly that you can be criticized for your stand or your policies, your foolishness, maybe even for incompetence, for arrogance and your red line is not on reputation and integrity.
It is common that in the cut and thrust of politics, all sorts of accusations are hurled but politicians and political parties that wants to occupy Putrajaya must start establish a threshold that they have people of integrity in the party who one day will be occupying Putrajaya and they are prepared to defend the integrity.
Show the ordinary rakyat that your approach to the rule of law is to lead by example towards protecting the interests of society at large rather than that of individuals.
Do not accept negotiated settlements where an apology suffice.
Those who spew lies and make accusatory and defamatory statements must be held responsible and be punished to the full extent of the law as the Courts deem fit.
No negotiated settlement at all.
Only then the political landscape will change for the better.
