In an interview with the YouTube channel “The Keywords”, quoted in a news portal report, you apparently said that if PMX fails to deliver meaningful reforms within the next 6 months, DAP will reassess its role in the government.
You also succintly and clearly wants the media to quote, not phrase you, saying DAP will not let this government fall until the next general election.
Your answer in whole, is like what they described in the Cantonese dialect colloquially – you talk like no talk.
Your answer is so broad and lack specifics.
A strategic response where the information is vague and high-level, to avoid criticism or direct accountability making it hard for the ordinary rakyat to find fault or pinpoint exact problems because there's nothing concrete to focus on.
Meaningful reforms?
PMX has been governing the country since Nov 2022.
Slightly more than 3 years as at Dec 2025.
And what reforms the government has undertaken?
Probably some, that it is so minutiae that its effects are lost in the end delivery to the ordinary rakyat.
PMX has 3 years until todate to deliver on those reforms stated in the Harapan GE15 Action Plan.
Even though the Harapan GE15 Action Plan propose a gradual reduction in tolls till ownership returns to the public, the ordinary rakyat was hoping that the Madani government will implement what it promised in its 2018 manifesto i.e abolishing all tolls.
Yes, PMX can cite that this can’t be implemented in the present owing to the country’s dire financial position and the RM20+billion debt caused by the 1MDB debacle.
But when the ordinary rakyat read how PMX goes around the world promising financial aids to others, you can’t blame the ordinary rakyat for wondering and asking what about us?
Yes, you could probably quote that PMX did deliver and implemented reforms such as introducing Parliamentary Services Act to boost parliamentary independence and scrutiny, enacted the Public Finance and Fiscal Responsibility Act (PFFRA) for strict fiscal discipline and Government Procurement Act for transparent tenders, cut subsidies for RON95 to reduce the deficit, saving billions and redirecting funds to welfare and infrastructure, narrowed the fiscal deficit, introduced legislation to regulate online platforms and protect users from harmful content.
Majority of the ordinary rakyat who eke out their existence living from hand to mouth are not particular about the time frame and the implementation of reforms such as separating the Office of the Attorney General from Public Prosecutor, creating a political financing mechanism that has integrity .....
To the ordinary rakyat, PMX did not deliver on those reforms promised in the Pakatan manifesto for the GE in 2018 that mattered most and affects them in their everyday life.
Such as abolishing all tolls, improving the quality of education, making government schools the best choice for its people.
The response was always that he has to ensure political stability of the Madani government and thus reforms are not happening as promised or are slow.
Yes, the ordinary rakyat understand the intricacies of the existing bureaucarcy and it takes time to reform all the above but……….
Your response in the above interview appears to be a knee jerk response to the events on 29 Nov 2025 in Sabah where your party was completely humiliated by the Sabahans.
By pre-empting this apparent show that your party is on top of the promised reforms with the qualification that all these promises are preceded by DAP will not let this government fall until the next general election clearly showed you and your party is not committed to really pursue the reforms.
The term for the Madani government ends in Dec 2027.
A period of 24 months.
Assuming PMX decides to call for a GE before the official ending of its legal term, say 6 months in advance, PMX has only 18 months to serve.
If PMX failed to deliver the meaningful reforms you mentioned that doesn’t come with specifics, within the next 6 months with the government still has another 12 to 18 months – assuming PMX calls the election nearer to the end of its official term – it is obvious that DAP will not carry out any reassessment of their role in the government.
That is what Malaysians of chinese descent say of DAP presently – talk like no talk.
Voters who was looking forward to some reforms being undertaken under your party's 2nd term occupying Putrajaya have been shouting and screaming themselves hoarse but Pakatan appears tone deaf or ignorant.
In instances where Pakatan acknowledged the shouts and screams, little, however, was done.
And worse, the lttle done and implemented were irrelevant to the ordinary rakyat.
