1st on 24 Oct 2026, the Minister of Home Affairs said that the position of AKPS director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain was being handled between the Home Ministry's secretary-general and the Chief Secretary to the Government.
Then 5 days later, on 29 Oct 2026, responding to a reporter, the same Minister of Home Affairs said the Home Ministry decided to end Mohd Shuhaily's secondment to AKPS and return him to the PDRM.
He even quipped to the reporter that the decision was made last week.
Made last week when 5 days ago, he was telling the public that the position of the AKPS DG was being handled by the Sec Gen in his Ministry and the Chief Secretary?
Was it made in the evening of 24 Oct 2026 which explains why the response he gave earlier was that the matter is being discussed?
Or the Sec Gen in his Ministry did not informed him on the progress of his discussion with the Chief Secretary?
Then, 2 days later, on 31 Oct 2026, the IGP reportedly said Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain's new assignment within PDRM remains unconfirmed pending royal consent and legal advice.
The IGP reportedly said Mohd Shuhaily’s appointment to the post had previously received the consent of His Majesty and thus procedurally, terminating his appointment prematurely requires consent from the King and AGC.
On the same day, the AG told reporters that returning Shuhaily from his role as Director-General of AKPS back to PDRM is strictly an administrative decision under the jurisdiction of the Home Ministry (KDN) and does not involve the AGC.
The powers that are appears to be treating Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain like a leper.
Waiting on formal legal letters, royal consent, and commission reviews are the excuses that are now being thrown out to the public.
And no single authority has finalized his next posting.
This has created a public perception that leadership is hesitating or passing the responsibility while his court case under Section 323 of the Penal Code proceeds.
Is that how the Madani government treats the x DG of AKPS, who during his brief tenure and as the 1st DG of AKPS recorded more than RM300 million (specifically RM322.74 million) in total seizures, a massive fourfold increase in the value of seizures compared to the previous year, directly preventing immense losses to national revenue, a fact that was affirmed previously by the Home Minister?
