Looking at the Malaysian political landscape, since independence, religion, race and ethnicity among Malaysians is a contending issues, conveniently used by politicians to prop up their image and their political parties.
Sadly, they are willing to sacrifice the country's greater good for their selfish interest. They do not have the vision, capacity and intelligence to be a politicians for the greater good of this country, meaning to the people of Malaysia.
I would like to suggest to the present unity government to select and allow candidates who have the capacity to be politicians who can serve the country beyond race and religion. If a politicians are only going to use race and religion as a tool to prop up and win elections, they are not fit to be politicians but mere rogues. So the unity government must conduct courses to all politicians from both sides of the political divides to increase and elevate themselves from being rogue politicians which is uncivilized in nature or barbaric, towards a civilized approach and process. Why use race and religion when it is clearly stipulated in the country's constitution, the Magna Carta!
In today's Malaysia, politicians are looked at negatively. Why not change this image, providing them capacity and knowledge to serve the country? The current situation in the country is created by the past and present politicians whether it is economic, social, political or religious, which is dampening the spirit of ordinary Malaysia and the image of Malaysia.
One of the content of the courses to be delivered if approved, must be the separation of religion and politics. If this separation does not take place in the thoughts and actions of politicians, it becomes a potent poison for the country, sooner or later "consider going to dogs" which can be seen all over the world.
“Religion is concerned with things of the spirit, politics with things of the world. Religion has to work with the world of thought, whilst the field of politics lies with the world of external conditions.Politics are occupied with the material things of life. Religious teachers should not invade the realm of politics; they should concern themselves with the spiritual education of the people; they should ever give good counsel to men, trying to serve God and human kind; they should endeavor to awaken spiritual aspiration, and strive to enlarge the understanding and knowledge of humanity, to improve morals, and to increase the love for justice”. – Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talk
If possible this must be legislated in the parliament as a law, if the unity government is very serious to make Malaysia to shine again as the "Asian Tiger". The majority of Malaysians prefer or want this to happen, for the good of this country so that the future generation which the country is going to be handed over to, will not be a fractured country, economically, socially, racially and religiously.
