And what were the core issues that you used to push for UMNO to leave the unity government?
Probably two main issues.
A DAP MP’s lack of response to her social media post and ongoing frustration over the socks controversy.
And the confirmation by your party President that the party would not leave the unity government left you feeling that your utmost best is still not good enough.
Probably moving forward, you should take a leaf out from your President’s actions in committing to stay with the unity government.
Its ironical, that the same man is the only person standing in between exiting and going against the unity government or stay.
You and those aligned or backing you to push for UMNO to leave the unity government are playing Russian roulette constantly provoking your President’s patience since UMNO joined the unity government.
Your President is not the madman as you and your backers projected him to be.
His commitment reflects true "political will”.
For whatever personal issues he may have, your President’s unwavering commitment to the unity government showed a consistent, principled action aligned with your party’s stated goals ie maintain and provides a stable political environment for the country to move forward instead of the constant bickering engulfing the country like the period before the 15th GE in 2022.
And your President is not alone in reiterating his commitment.
Senior leaders like the Vice-president and a senior member of the Supreme Council saying leaving the unity government is merely your personal view backed by the Information Chief casting doubt on a survey cited to support calls for the party to withdraw from the unity government has indeed cast aspersions on how much support do you have within and in the party.
The doubts raised by the Information Chief on the survey revealed in the Special meeting you led on 3 Jan 2026 especially when the think-tank who apparently undertook the survey distances itself from it, casts a shadow on your integrity and sincerity.
For sure the country will be thrown into another round of game of thrones amongst the politicians if UMNO were to leave the unity government before the end of the present government’s term.
When political leaders prioritize power struggles and personal ambition over governance and public welfare, the stability and prosperity of the country and its citizens can be severely harmed.
History and current events often illustrate how such internal conflicts can lead to policy stagnation, economic decline, and social unrest.
It has often been cited that the most frequently reported basis for distrusting politicians in this country is their lack of intrinsic commitment.
If you are sincere in your fight for religion, race and country, you do not need a position or a title.
You just need an irrevocable commitment and you can still fight for it outside the system.
