Where are all the MPs and Assemblyment in these 2 initiatives?

Tabung Harapan & #KitaJagaKita?

Did any Member of Parliament and State Assemblymen contributed to the Tabung Harapan fund that was initiated by an ordinary Malaysian and then set up by government in 2018 and participated actively in their personal capacity in the #KitaJagaKita movement?

If they have, please stand up and be counted by the ordinary rakyat.

The fund officially closed in January 2019 after raising RM205.49 million, and the then government, claiming that the entire amount had been used to pay off a portion of 1MDB debts.

Even though the government gave the excuse for its inability to disclose the details of the donors, citing some laws and not regulations that are not applicable to the matter, the Penang state government, led by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, did anounce that they are contributing by cutting 10% of the salaries of the Chief Minister and ten Executive Council (exco) members to channel into the fund.

Former Malacca Chief Minister Adly Zahari did announced a RM350,000 state government contribution.

Read that carefully.

State government contribution.

Meaning it is the monies from the tax payers.

Not from them personally.

But millions of ordinary Malaysians contributed.

A 12 year old boy, who was hoping to buy a drum set with his savings contributed his entire savings kept in a Menara Maybank coin box.

A Malaysian wrote that her father contributed RM10 per family member as a gesture of patriotism and love for the country.

Reportedly, numerous women personally stepped forward to contribute their own jewellery, gold bangles, and personal valuables as a heartfelt gesture to help reduce the nation’s debt.

What did our politicians do?

Other than hiding cowardly and shouting they are fighting for the country, race and religion when it suits them and served their purposes, none stepped forward to contribute monetarily in their personal capacity.

Some even called the act of the 12 year old boy as a cheap stunt.

It was the common and ordinary rakyat that comes forward to help the country.

These ordinary rakyat don’t shout and scream at the top of their lungs to remind the world that they are doing it for the sake of their race or religion.

They are doing it solely for their love of the country.

For #KitaJagaKita, again, it was an initiative started by an ordinary Malaysian, author Hanna Alkaf who started the hashtag and directory in March 2020 because she felt helpless watching vulnerable communities—like daily wage earners and the homeless—suffer from the immediate loss of income and food.

She channeled that frustration into action by compiling lists of NGOs and civil society groups needing funds or volunteers.

It was really and truly Satu Malaysia moment.

Again, where were all those politicians who constantly screamed what they are doing are for the ordinary rakyat?

Where are all those bigots constantly shouting that they are defending their race and religion?

All conveniently retreated back into their turtle shell during those 2 moments.

None dare to come out publicly to support and assist all these people led initiatives.

My dear fellow Malaysians, don’t ever, for one single moment, ever believe any of the politicians.

It doesn’t matter who they are and what political party they are in, their track records or their ideologies.

All of them are just using the ordinary rakyat for their own greed.

Malaysia will be better without any politicians especially those that are regularly stirring hatred on race & religion issues.
