You got to love Mat Sabu and his sense of humour, inviting Hadi to ride a bull in Spain. Not just any bull but the one that fights a matador in the bullring.
The question is, what has riding the bull in Spain got to do with the price of beef at home?
Anyway, in the classic parliamentary banter of our esteemed politicians, where the fate of a nation rests on the backs of bulls in Spain, Mohamad Sabu and Hadi Awang, once comrades under the same party banner, now find themselves on opposite sides of the beefy divide.
One can't help but marvel at the gravity of the issues at hand. While the citizens grapple with soaring meat prices, our politicians are orchestrating a grand showdown in Spain. Because who cares about affordable beef when you can watch politicians play matador with their egos, right?
It's heartwarming to see our Agriculture and Food Security Minister, of all people, embrace his inner cowboy.
Perhaps he believes that conquering a bull in Spain will magically make beef more affordable back home. After all, the laws of economics do work in mysterious ways. If myths failed they can always call upon the Economics Minister to share his magical "bull" formula.
And then there's Hadi Awang, the voice of reason in this circus. He wisely points out that maybe, just maybe, Mohamad Sabu should channel his enthusiasm into fixing the meat price problem instead of riding the bull – an endeavour more suited for a rodeo than a parliament.
In the grand scheme of things, one can't help but wonder if the bull is the real victim here, caught in the crossfire of political theatrics between two MPs.
But hey, as they say, in politics, sometimes you have to ride the bull to avoid addressing the real issues.
What a lot of bull.
