That the unity government is on the brink of collapse is the theory that is being proposed by Malaysia Now to explain why 4 opposition MP’s have switched side to support PMX Anwar Ibrahim.

According to Malaysia Now, it has received information from a source in Umno who claims that the ruling coalition is on the brink of collapse owing to growing dissatisfaction from several partners.

If the claim is true, it tallies with the claim by the Pas’s deputy president, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan in October that the party is ready to return to Putrajaya.

The claim could also explain why Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has recently said that a majority of Malaysians want Perikatan Nasional (PN) to take control of the federal government.

According to the theory, the move to get opposition MP’s, specifically Bersatu MP’s, to switch side and support PMX Anwar Ibrahim, is being done to boost up the number of MP’s on the side of PMX Anwar, so as to discourage any move to topple the government of the day.

That there is a move to topple the government, might also explain why the PH lawmakers, many of whom were instrumental in the construction and the passing of the anti-hopping bill, are being silent over the move by four Bersatu MPs to switch side, although the action of the four MPs makes a mockery of the anti-hopping bill.

According to MalaysiaNow, Although PMX Anwar Ibrahim has already secured the support of four Bersatu MP’s, the attempt to get opposition MP’s to switch sides is still not over.

The attempt to get opposition MPs to switch over, which is allegedly being conducted by a bald middle-aged man who identifies himself as a "Dato", is still ongoing.

The bald dato has already met with a number of MPs within the Parliament vicinity recently.

Other than Langkawi MP Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah, MalaysiaNow also has named Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob to be amongst the MPs that the bald Dato has approached.

Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob has also confirmed that he has been approached by the bald dato with a proposal that he switched his support to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

"His representative came to see me, but I refused," the Gerik MP has told MalaysiaNow.
