The appointment of Nurul Izzah as an advisor to Anwar Ibrahim has created a lot of controversies lately. According to those critics, it does not reflect the reformist spirit that was championed by Anwar Ibrahim and Nurul Izzah previously.
However, it is my opinion that it is the prerogative of Anwar Ibrahim as this nation’s 10th Prime Minister to choose who he wants to assist him in the administration of the country, especially after the recent political and economical turmoil, said Dr Rina Revathy, the newly elected Women Movement Wing of MIRA Party.
In order to provide contrasting perspectives or to fill in any gaps that concentrate on the underserved segment of society, advisors to senior government leaders are occasionally chosen. It may not necessarily duplicate any currently performed governmental duties to the extent of duplication.

It cannot be denied that Nurul Izzah has the required experience, knowledge, and talent virtue of her being a Member of Parliament from 2008 to 2022. Those achievements were made without the much-vaunted nepotism tag. She had achieved all those successes being Nurul Izzah and not Anwar’s daughter.
Above all, Nurul Izzah’s appointment is as an unpaid employee to invigilate the tender process which furthers Kerajaan Madhani’s commitment to ethics, transparency, and compliance as who can be better suited for the role than Puteri Reformasi herself. Furthermore, it affords her increased opportunities to lead initiatives driving real policy benefits for the rakyat that would not have been available to her previously.
It is easy to scream nepotism and accuse Anwar of endorsing it. However, if one cares to view and analyse things without any political tinted glasses, they would see that Anwar has actually appointed a very highly calibrated former legislature who has the love and trust of the people.
Most importantly, after Anwar’s experiences of having his closest allies stabbed in the back numerous times prior to this, it is understandable as to why he chose to have his daughter as his advisor. It is totally understandable.
Let’s give Anwar a break and let him govern. Let us not find issues with petty things and disrupt the political stability of this country further quipped Dr Rina during Thaipusam "Tannir Panthal" food distribution to devotees at Jalan Ipoh by MIRA Party WP.
