Malaysians and those who supported PH all these years are saying, it is too late.

They are literally tired of the excuses given.

For example, those so called reforms that PH themselves promised their supporters that they will do once they come to power.

If they can't do it, just be transparent and reveal the reasons why.

They can't muster the required support amongst the lawmakers, be it from their own side or those from the Opposition.

Do not dilly dally and then keep quiet about it.

The reduction of petrol prices promised in their campaigns was one.

Yes, the government under PH did finally reduced the price for RON95, from below its previous long-term ceiling of RM2.05 down to RM1.99 per litre.

6 sen.

Supporters of PH said bravo.

They forgot PH promised to reduce prices by 50 sen in 2008 in their campaign for the then general election.

PMX gave the excuse that at that time when he made the pledge, PH did not become the government.

When PH finally did become the government in 2018, he was not the Prime Minister thus he could personally execute the pledge.

Then in July 2022, ahead of the 15th GE held in Nov 2022, it was PMX himself, pledging in front of the supporters from his own party, PKR, famously said, quote, `This time, if we win, we will deliver all our promises to the rakyat’.

In the same meeting that he had with his supporters in PKR, he even boldly proclaimed that the then government under PM9 could not address the issue of fuel prices because those in power were busy working to save their political careers.

Wonder who was the one trying to save their political careers when later, after being appointed as the PM, in one of a dialogue session with youths across the country, in response to a question from a schoolgirl, he famously retorted her saying that if the race-based university quota system is abolished to be replaced with a merit-based system, it would cause his coalition to lose elections, potentially allowing opposition parties like PAS and Bersatu to take power and the ordinary rakyat will suffer more in this country.

The ordinary rakyat and supporters of PH viewed the explanation blaming changing global prices or economic contexts for the unfulfilled historical promises to lower fuel prices as political excuses rather than valid justifications.

PH will be daft if they are not aware this only further deepens public cynicism when the excuses given did not translate into relief for daily household expenses.

Similarly, those who supported and voted for them are telling PH that since they can't deliver what they promised, the voters just did not vote for them.

Their voters did not withdraw their support for them.

In the elections in the 3 states, their supporters just did not do what PH asked from them i.e vote for PH.

PH asked their supporters to vote for them on the promise that PH will undertake the reforms promised by them to their supporters.

Their supporters did what was asked from them and they delivered.

It was just that PH did not do their part and reciprocate the support from their supporters.

In this situation, how does Merdeka Centre expects PH to rebuild support amongst their supporters let alone new voters?

Even a wife will get upset if the husband keeps promising that he will take her and the family for a holiday only for him postponing and keep giving excuses that he can’t take time off even though he can afford it financially when in actual fact what he was busy with was spending time with his many other girlfriends.
