If I was Trump, at this stage, I would have realised that starting the war in Iran was a mistake.
It is not a mistake because Iran is innocent - it is a mistake because it is not obvious that Iran is guilty.
America can assume that Iran is intending to cause it harm, but it can't act on it until it has proof that Iran is taking action to realise its intention.
All of us, after all, know that Iran has a negative perception of America. But what none of us know is whether Iran has or is planning to act on its negative perception .
In fact, Iran has done all that it reasonably can to show that it has no plans to act on its hostile perception of America - it has honestly claimed that it does have nuclear weapons although it has nuclear ambitions, and it has shown willingness to negotiate with the rest of the world on how to pursue it's nuclear ambition in a legitimate manner.
America on the other hand, had attacked Iran while negotiations was still going on.
Now all of you might be wondering : " but Nehru, if I am sure that someone has a very negative perception of me and most certainly has intentions to harm me, I have a right to act on it before he actually harms me right?" , my answer will be no, you do not.
Why?
Because if you do, then you cannot expect anyone to help you, if the person you attacked attacks you in return.
Why ?
Because anyone who helps you will feel like they are the villains in their own eyes, and no one likes to condemn themselves in their own eyes.
If any nation assists America today, either to attack Iran or defend itself against Iran's attack, that is exactly how they are going to feel about themselves.
This is why most western countries, including NATO countries, are reluctant to help america in its war against Iran today.
But despite that, I am also quite sure that the western countries will eventually help America and Israel in its war against Iran , even if does so reluctantly.
Why ?
Because at the end of the day, America and Israel are one of their own, while Iran is the "outsider".
Not only that, the victory of the Israelis and the Americans is also tied to the self interest of the Western nations.
Uk, France, Germany and other western nations have wealth, status, position and authority in the world today, because the western civilisation is the apex civilisation in the globe today.
If America and Israel are humiliated by Iran , the prestige of the entire western Civilisation will be degraded.
If the prestige of the Western Civilisation is degraded, countries like the UK, Germany and France will lose their wealth, status and position in the world.
Regardless of how western nations like France, UK or Germany are remonstrating against the US and Israel today, when push comes shove, they will still be compelled to aid America and Israel .
Other than their self interest, western nations also have a long and entangled relationship with each other.
The relationships between nations in a Civilisation is no different from that of family members of a family.
No matter what squabbles that the family members might have amongst themselves, when the family has a problem or if the family has a problem with outsiders, the family members will stand up for the family, even if reluctantly .
This is especially true in the case of a prestigious family which is in danger of losing its prestige, and the western civilisation is certainly the most prestigious "family" of the world.
But wouldn't you feel like a villain, if you help your family member against an outsider, when your family member is in the wrong, you ask ?
Yes, but this is only the case if the matter is as straightforward as that.
To prevent it from being as straightforward as that , there are 1001 things that can be done to complicate it.
If bombs are to explode in London or Paris for example, and if the fault is pinned on the Iranians or a supporter of the Iranians, Britain and Germany can claim "outrage" and join the war effort by Israel and US , by seeing themselves as victims seeking justice rather than as villains.
At the end of the day, you can never underestimate peoples ability to take their own side. Most of us are perfectly capable of convincing ourselves that what is good is also what is on our self interest, and persuade ourselves to act according to this belief.
It is very rare to find anyone who will be able to accept that what is good is against their self interest, or what is in its self interest is not good, and act according to what is good, even if it is against their self interest.
An ancient civilisation like Iran most certainly knows the nature of humanity, and that is why it is waging a war against the entire global economy.
It is waging a war against the global economy, because it knows that nobody is going to do anything against their self interest, no matter how much they protest or remonstrate otherwise, and that no matter how much the western nations chastise Israel and the US today, when push comes to shove , they will certainly still side with the US and Israel in the end.
Other than Iran, India is also an ancient civilisation, and if anything we can learn from Mahabharata, the greatest epic that the Indian civilisation has produced, it is that when war is meant to happen, nothing can prevent it.
In the Mahabharata, there were many wise, heroic and righteous leaders amongst the Kauravas, who knew that what Duryodhana was doing was wrong, and that the Pandavas have indeed been wronged by the Kauravas.
They even repeatedly remonstrated with Duryodhana over it.
But in the end, when push came to shove , they all joined Duryodhana to wage war against the Pandavas anyway, even if they did so reluctantly .
As they say , there is nothing new under the sun. As the Indians predicted thousands of years ago, just as even righteous leaders like Drona and Bhisma would reluctantly join Duryodhana, in his unjust war against the Pandavas, no matter how reasonable or righteous they are, most if not all of the western nations will join America in its war against Iran, even if they know that Iran has been wronged by America.
In this time of great tribulation, rather than waste time hoping for peace, it is much better to aim to be a hero instead.
It is only in troubled times that true heroes will arise.
When life gives you lemon, it's best to make lemonade.
As the villains escalate the troubles even if it will end up burning the world to the ground, all for the sake of their pride and hubris, it will be up to the heroes to save the world, by putting out the fire, through their sacrifice, restrain and willingness to do what is right, even if it is against their self interest and pride.
Big or small, new or old, local or international, this is the time for heroes to arise in all corners of the world, because the world is going to burn in all corners.🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you seize the day, and resolve to act heroically, who knows, it might be your name that will be remembered for generations to come, or perhaps even for a 1000 years.
