In January 2021, US officially declared China's actions in Xinjiang as genocide and crimes against humanity.
Parliaments in the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic have also passed resolutions recognizing the acts as genocide.
The international community has been systematically informed of widespread human rights abuses and potential genocide committed by the government in China against Uyghurs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) since roughly 2017.
Even the United Nations joined in the act with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) releasing a report in Aug 2022 that states that China’s actions in Xinjiang may constitute "crimes against humanity".
The report cited "credible" allegations of torture and forced medical treatment.
What were the evidence used by these countries in arriving at their conclusions?
The Chairman of a supposedly independent and unofficial UK-based tribunal even admitted that there was "no evidence of mass killings" in Xinjiang, but he said that the alleged efforts to prevent births amounted to genocidal intent.
How did the Tribunal come to its conclusion that China's actions in Xinjiang as genocide and crimes against humanity?
The Western world widely views Chinese statistics with skepticism but in this instance, in jumping to their conclusions, they boldly proclaimed that they trust the data from Chinese government agencies.
Be that as it may, the world watches the endless atrocities, live, happening in Gaza everyday.
Is it or is it not genocide?
No one was spared - not the children, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers, journalists, health professionals, aid workers, or hostages.
Gaza is now turned into a landscape of desolation, where nearly half of the casualties are children and thousands remain displaced.
The world watches but nothing was done.
They were quick to condemn China on Xinjiang just based on 3rd party assessments and spurious claims but stay mum in the face of atrocities being beamed across the world on a daily basis.
