On 22 Aug 2022, in his Facebook posting, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said non-Muslims and non-Bumiputera make up the bulk of what he called as "roots of corruption" -- those who chase illicit gains -- to the detriment of the country's economy and politics.
He said this had allowed non-Malays to dictate terms to the Malays, which in turn made the Malays become corrupted and entangled in financial scandals.
In another opinion on Facebook sometime in Jan 2019, he warned Muslims that they would end up in hell if non-Muslims were allowed to participate in governing the Muslim majority country.
He also said that Malaysia can only be saved by Muslims and Shariah law, which he said is superior to man-made laws.
In Feb 2018, he reportedly said non-Muslims would only have a secondary role in government i.e. tasked with carrying out what had been decided by Muslims in his Cabinet should his party take power in the next general election.
A few months prior, in Dec 2017 in a statement posted on HarakahDaily he pointed out that Malaysia should be led by Malay-Muslims as they are the dominant community, and suggested that the group holds the top decision-making positions in the cabinet because the greatness and excellence in the positions for the judiciary, administration, security, and defence will be lost if it is in the hands of the non-Muslims.
In May 2016, campaigning in the elections in Sarawak, he said both Sabah and Sarawak must be ruled by a Muslim Bumiputera.
In 2008, he reportedly said it was perfectly acceptable to character assassinate political rivals.
He has repeatedly said Malay-Muslims are the dominant community in this country.
So why do PAS need to woo the non Muslims for it to be the next govt only for the non muslims to be `officially’ categorized thereafter as 2nd class citizens?
He should just continue to woo the dominant community in this country which shall be sufficient for his party to govern on their own or with their coalition partners and not those whom he has openly said would be categorised as 2nd class citizens if his party is to rule this country.
