I have been in the mood to compare Malaysian politicians with politicians from other countries in recent weeks.
Earlier, I had compared Khairy to Lee Kuan Yew, much to the vehemence and chagrin of most of my readers.
I also wanted to compare Nurul Izzah to Aung San Suu Kyi and Dr Sam to Narendra Modi, but I haven't gotten to it.
But there is another comparison I have made and that is in regards to Thalapathy Vijay and Rafizi Ramli.
Thalapathy Vijay entered politics at the last minute, to go against an established party headed by a father and son duo, and by all counts, it looks like he is set to create the biggest upset in Tamil Nadu politics, by emerging as the biggest winner and most likely person to be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Rafizi Ramli is also set to start a new party soon, and if he does, he is also most likely going to go against a father-daughter duo, in an election that is most likely going to occur in the very near future.
I am not going to predict that Rafizi will emerge as the biggest winner in that election, as I predicted that Vijay will in this election, but I will say that there is a good chance that Rafizi might emerge as one of the significant winners in that election.
If he does emerge as a significant winner, then like Vijay was to Tamil Nadu politics, I think that Rafizi might be a game changer in Malaysian politics too.
Anyway, it struck me as ....fateful....that on the same day that Vijay has come out as the biggest winner and game changer in Tamil Nadu , Rafizi has been called in for questioning by MACC.
I can't explain why I found it portentous, but I did, and I thought that I should register the fact that I found it portentous , by making a post about it.
