Loyalty? Sounds so unfamiliar in today’s society. Loyalty simply means faithfulness and devotion in any form of relationship. It is to always put another person’s feelings above our own and to be with them through good times or bad times.
For me, loyalty can be seen through our actions. I always perceive myself to be from the olden days era because I just love the way loyalty is shown amongst each other at that time.
However, this chaotic or better said, cruel world has always made me believe that loyalty is rare & would be abused if it is shown openly to people. As honesty is the most important aspect of any relationship, many people just find it difficult to be loyal.
Wherever there are betrayal of trust, loyalty will not be seen there. For instance, between politicians and the people, promises are made during elections but nothing changes once the elections are over which makes the people unhappy. Therefore in the next election, the governing party will be thrown out. Or between friends, when we know something really personal about our friend and we share it without their consent or we spread lies about them, loyalty is lost here.
In a romantic relationship, loyalty should be the ground on which everything else lies. Once the loyalty is gone, just like a broken glass which can never be fixed, the relationship will always have a gap, and it can never be the same again.
For me, personally, I will always choose to be loyal, regardless of the situation or circumstances. Being loyal or disloyal is actually just a fine line which will display your attitude to everyone you know.
Let us bring back the old ways. Loyalty is a trait that carries weight in every relationship that we form in this world!
