Not all that wear white are good, neither are all the religious disciples reflections of the qualities of the prophet they serve.
These are the most dangerous of the lot, those that lead astray simple people with their rhetoric masked behind a veil of filial servitude or religious jargons. For if words can kill, they first lead astray and contaminate the good nature of people. Bending them to do the dubious will of the speaker.
And is seems that for the past few year, such speech has become the norm in Malaysia. It is now common to find one speaking nonsense only to have them blame the listener when they are called out. They speak with impunity, sprouting lies and madness only to slither back to their holes when confronted with truth.
They continue to rear their heads because we allow them to. Our gestures of goodwill and grace is abused; allowing them to spill their venom without remorse nor guilt.
It is not enough to merely call them out, we need to remove them from their sheep's clothing and put them behind bars. Evil needs to be contained and locked away because not doing so will harm the country and the repercussions will last long pass our life time.
Democracy has always thrived in an environment that allows all people to speak their mind. Yet, when left un-checked and un-moderated; such privileges to speak one's mind can lead to the prevalence of only one school of thought. And this is often times dictated by the loudest voice, that of those from the majority. Yet in a democracy, all voices need to be heard; where everyone stands on equal footing to speak.
To have only one group claim that theirs and only their voice is most important is wrong. And couple this voice with those who are known to sprout misleading and wrong ideas, like those of Abdul Hadi Awang, then we have a recipe for disaster in our country.
To constantly harp on the "us vs them" troupe which is all too familiar with Hadi Awang, do not be surprise if there is division and mayhem. This is the rhetoric of hate and fear. This is the work of a fear-peddler.
Malaysiakini reported that Abdul Hadi Awang stated that non-Muslims will rule if Malays have low political awareness. The claim in itself is mis-leading and doesn't make sense. The fact that the Malays had political awareness in the first place allowed them to see that independence was not something far-fetched for Malaya.
What Abdul Hadi Awang needs to accept is that with high political awareness, the Malays will never accept his brand of politics.
Politics in Malaysia has always been slanted at keeping the Malays, stagnated at the lower end of the scale. With low political awareness, political masters like Abdul Hadi Awang are able to keeps his minions in check.
Do not lay the blame on the non-Muslims if Malays stay low; because the ones hindering true political awareness are those masquerading behind their sheep's clothing and spewing evil messages.
