The Star reported that Tony Pua was criticized for making some disparaging remarks about UMNO and the coalition recently. Anthony Loke clarified that Pua’s remarks were not the official view of the DAP. There were various interesting opinions from various parties.

I must say that I believe Tony Pua to be a principled man, and I admire him for that. He has shown himself to be a man of multi-talents, a real asset to multi-racial Malaysia. However, maybe he should have thought of and seen the bigger picture of what the nation is going through and what the unity government is working hard at before letting his words out. As one commented, we should move forward and not throw stones in glass houses. That is very well said!

As the rakyat, we can actually see and hear many things. We can see corruption, injustice, incompetence and falsehood at different levels of society every day. Indeed, this is a sad scenario in our nation. Many who are righteous and competent may be frustrated or angry. And we cannot deny the fact of how this nation has been destroyed. We sometimes burst out in anger and frustration. However, I believe we can still do something to restore and rebuild our nation.

For all the leaders or readers who are frustrated, let us not throw stones in the glass house. Do not throw in the towels in your frustration. Do not ever give up. We may have spoken out words of truth in the wrong places, but at the wrong time. We may have reacted negatively when we could have responded positively and prevented many unpleasant situations. We may have made many slips in our journey of serving, wherever it may be. We may have lacked self-control or wisdom but we cannot undo the hurt or anger. To be honest, who has not slipped in his words or actions? Let us take each of our experiences as part of our learning curve. Let us choose to move on in maturity with the bigger picture in mind.

The bigger picture that I see is a Malaysia that is prosperous in its resources and character. The bigger picture is the restoration of the principles of the Rukun Negara and the spirit of Muhibbah. Let us all choose to see the good and strength in our fellowmen. Let us help one another to be a better person or leader. Let us be humble and courageous to receive admonitions and corrections for our own good.

Malaysia is a nation that is greatly blessed in many ways, the envy of many. Let us all work at our differences, stand united because unity is strength and rebuild together. Think of the Bigger Picture, See the Bigger Picture.

God bless Malaysia!
