When you and your opponent are fighting for something, a ceasefire is what happens when the both of you reach a point where neither of you think that you can get what you want. Considering that, what ceasefire could Trump have brokered between Iran and Israel, when they have just started fighting?
Trump says he has arranged for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran , but Trump seems to understand everything in a superficial fashion. Ceasefire to Trump probably just means "stop fighting", which is indeed what ceasefire means if you just look at it from a superficial point of view, but meaningfully, what it means is that it is a stoppage of fighting because all the sides that are fighting have lost hope that they can achieve their goals through fighting.
Israel has most definitely not lost hope that it can achieve its goal through fighting - it wants to change the face of the middle east and it has just successfully dragged the US into its plan- at this stage of the conflict, Israel probably can say that it is the one that is winning so far - considering that, there is no reason for Israel to agree a ceasefire now.
Iran is unlikely to have lost hope either- Iran does not need to win against the West - all it needs to do is not lose against the west, and the very fact that it is not decisively defeated by the west itself can be counted as a win for Iran.
Iran is nowhere close to being defeated by the west. If the Vietnam War took decades to run its course, a war with Iran might take longer. A country like Iran, that is challenging a superior power like the West has likely conditioned itself for generations to make great sacrifices and endure a long struggle, just to fulfil its strategic goal of winning by not being defeated by a great power like the US.
To think that Iran has already lost hope that it can achieve its goals when it has just wet its feet in the arena of war, is too wishful a thinking to be taken seriously
Considering that this is the case, that Trump thinks that he can broker a ceasefire so quickly, is likely because he is not as smart as he thinks he is.
Trump is not stupid - nobody that rises to the top is stupid - but he might think he is far smarter than he actually is, and that is a danger, because when you think you are far smarter than you are, you will do things boldly and confidently, simply because you will assume that reality will toe the line to your thinking, not the other way around.
If the Iranians are like the Americans and the Supreme leader of Iran is like Trump, then what Trump assumes might indeed come to pass.
But there is a great likelihood that the Iranians and their leadership are built differently from Trump and the Americans, but it is arguable as to whether Trump can see the difference.
For all you know, Trump might just see the Iranian people and leaders as being no different from him and the Americans, except he believes that he and the Americans are better.
It might be the case that if America and Trump were in the shoes of the Iranians and Iranian leadership today, they might be persuaded to quickly surrender, but the Iranian leaders and people being who they are, not who the Americans think they are, might in reality be readying themselves for a long struggle and great sacrifice, under the conditions they are in today.
