Anwar is saying that election won't be held in the next two months , but Khairy likely thinks that it will be held soon.

Khairy likely thinks so because after roaming in the political wilderness for 3 years, he finally swallowed his ego and returned back to Zahid Hamidi's Umno, with no conditions attached.

I doubt someone like Khairy would have done so, if he didn't think that the general election is near, and Anwar is going to bite the dust it.

The very fact that everybody from political parties to the press to Anwar himself are talking about elections is itself a condition for elections to occur in the near future.

Make no mistake, the talk of snap elections in the near future is gaining traction because many people are itching to see Anwar bite the dust.

When the MPs, whose job it is to listen to the people and win their favour, find out that people want elections to be held soon so that they can vote Anwar out and see him bite the dust, they are going to withdraw support from the Madani government, and force an election to be called, regardless of whether Anwar is ready for it or not.

As to whether Anwar will bite the dust if the election is held soon, I think the answer is yes .

Why ?

Because Anwar came to power by promising that he is going to dismantle the "trust me , I know best, i will take care of everything" style of politics that characterizes the old regime and institute reforms that will ensure that the country will run according to institutional standards and established code of ethics.

Anwar not only did not dismantle the practise of the old regime and institute reforms, he has been running the country under the "trust me, I know best, I will take care of everything" style of governance, where ethics and principles are bent freely according to Anwar's whims and discretion.

Rather than Reformasi figures like Rafizi or Sivarasa, it is old regime figures like Ramanan and Zahid Hamidi that now forms his inner circle.

If people thought fine, even if Anwar can't be counted on providing reform , at least he will be able to "take care of everything" if you just trust him, well, the economic crisis that we see are seeing now will make sure that they can't even count on Anwar to do that.

When there is a small problem, perhaps Anwar can "take care of everything", but when there is a big, comprehensive and chronic problem like the one that we are facing because of the economic crisis, I am more than sure than Anwar and his "trust me , I will take care of everything " method of governing is going to fail spectacularly .

While he was failing to institute reforms and reverting back to the practises of the old regime that he promised he would dismantle, Anwar also has earned the ire of everyone from the Indians, Chinese, Sabahans and Sarawakians in the 3 years that he was running the country.

So in conclusion, there is a clear appetite to see Anwar Ibrahim fall and bite the dust.

Now some people are saying : "hold your horses - it is not a good idea to change horses midstream - as bad as Anwar is, we should keep our faith with him so that he can save our country in this time of crisis - he might have his shortcomings, but look around, who else better do we have other then Anwar, "

To the people who says this, I don't think you get what is going on in the hearts and mind of the people.

Nobody thinks Anwar can save anyone from anything. Other than Azam Baki, Zahid Hamidi and Ramanan, we don't even think that Anwar is interested in saving anyone or anything.

We know that when this economic crisis is at its deepest, nobody is going to be able to save us. It is a global crisis - not only Malaysians, everybody in the world is going to suffer because of it .

But when we are drowning in the middle of this economic crisis, at least we would like to have the satisfaction of knowing that we are not drowning like fools, who can be tricked into trusting someone who never intended to honour the word to us, because they believe that we are too stupid to find out or to weak and helpless to do anything about it even when we find out.

To have that satisfaction , we would like to drown the person who fooled us before we ourselves drown.

We know there is not going to be any winner in the coming election. - but that doesn't matter, because it is not a winner we are looking for in the next election, but the loser.

We have already decided who want the loser to be.

We want that loser to be Anwar.

We want him to lose, so that when he falls and bites the dust, we want the satisfaction of looking him in the eyes and tell him : “See , this is what happens when you think that the people are stupid and can't do anything .”
