It quoted William Figueroa, a China-Iran expert at the University of Groningen as saying China is interested in Iran primarily as a source of discounted oil.

What is wrong with this?

Is it "wrong" for China to buy oil from Iran?

There is a willing seller i,e Iran in this case and there is a willing buyer i,e China.

Iran is willing to accept Yuan as payment and China pays in yuan.

There is nothing anywhere to say the purchase of oil has to be paid in only one single currency.

As nations who joined the sanctions imposed unilaterally by countries in the western hemisphere on Iran refused to buy oil from them, isnt it obvious that Iran has to find alternative buyers?

China is not nor do they declare Iran as their enemies and vice versa unlike most of the countries in the western hemisphere

Who can they turned to to sell their oil?

Surely it will be countries that are willing to buy from them.

If it is entirely normal for humans to look for the cheapest product or source of supply, why can’t China buy oil from Iran if Iran is willing to sell and at a discount?

Did China `forced’ Iran to sell their oil at a discount to them?

Nope.

Iran was forced to take this step because no other countries are willing to buy from them.

Iran needs the revenue.

It was the nations in the western hemisphere who supported the unilateral sanctions against Iran that resulted in the country being forced to sell at a discount.

As there is a `limited’ pool of potential buyers who is willing to buy from them, it is obvious that Iran will sell to whoever is willing to buy from them even if it is at a discounted price.

Many analysts and mainstream media in the western hemisphere have portrayed and questioned China’s motive and intention in the attack on Iran and why it didn’t come to the defence of Iran.

Many opined that China need to protect its massive energy imports, with over 90% of Iran's oil exports going to China and maintain its investment.

If China can no longer buy oil from Iran, it will just look for alternative sources of supply, albeit probably not at the prices that they paid to Iran.

Unless every oil producing countries in the world unilaterally stop selling oil to China, they can always and have the choice to buy from other oil suppliers.

China does not act unilaterally and like a bully.

United Nations exists for a specific reason.

United Nations is the correct and proper party that should mediate and stop the attack on Iran.

If the United Nations play deaf dumb and mute in this invasion, who is China to get involved and take sides in this one sided and unilateral action?

If China is to get involved, they will be no different from the bullies that invaded Iran.
