As predicted by many, the hung government continues. There is a lot of resistance within UMNO to join with PH, actually, it is not because BN dislikes PH completely, or BN people are racist (like some might think BN people are) like many, politicians are a pragmatic bunch of people who will be willing to change their tune if they have to and suck up to any backfire they might face, but the real reason BN is feeling the heat is that its own grass root has turned its back on them. When that happens there is only one thing to do, and that is to go back and face its grass roots and fix its internal problems.

I am thankful to hear what people like Tok Mat & TS Anuar Musa are saying, at least that means that UMNO still could put itself in the right position to move forward. And I agree BN should take this opportunity to learn how to be an effective opposition to keep in check Pakatan Harapan in the government. If UMNO wants to redeem itself and fix its issues, it has to remove the cancer that's metastasising from within, no other people can do that but UMNO members themselves, they need to unlearn and relearn the politics of today.

I disagree for BN to be part of the government, and I would offer a separate thought for Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional to form a coalition. Now I know the discontent between PN and PH is new as if everything just happened yesterday, but if PH could accept BN it's long time enemy why couldn't they accept PN too? Let's call it a day of truce and let's govern this country!

We are facing years of challenges ahead that will require a stable government. Stable in the sense where monetary and fiscal policies must be addressed to remain relevant, it is no more the time for yelling who was right or who was wrong. It is time to come together as Malaysians and face the new brave world that is going to affect each and every Malaysian regardless of its race or religion, with that some things each of us has to swallow.

If PH and PN were to form a government it would have a larger mandate, and it would protect the government from future risks of collapsing. It would ensure a stable front that would help restore investors confidence whilst each and every party could keep each other in check to ensure enough check and balances from within the government itself. and if lets say DAP or PAS are unable to swallow this bitter pill, then one of them could bow down and work as opposition to help keep the check and balances from the opposition side, and the figures could still support a stable government.

Pragmatic choices could be made e.g. Anwar as PM and TS Muhyiddin Yassin and TPM1 and someone from Borneo as TPM2. with sharing portfolios across the field among all party component. This prerogative should not be shouldered by only the PM but all three names mentioned above to ensure that you check each others work & not for any form of personal gain.

Alas, BN and especially UMNO could then finally place a shadow government to keep the check and balances, whilst learning to be effective as the new opposition. UMNO has never had a chance to take this role, and they should take this up and get good at it. I am still hoping that the government would consider instating KJ as a senator but to fulfil the role of opposition leader, but that might not be welcomed by many, but one can still hope! Zahid however could go back and continue to fight his cases in court, if he was found not guilty then so be it, it would not be because someone interfered, and he can hold his head high. If he was found guilty then he will pay the penance as like anyone else would in face of the law.

This will help our beloved country stabilize in terms of economy, address issues more quickly, and give credibility to external investors that we are not forsaking the future of our countrymen. A Win-Win scenario indeed.

May Allah guide us in these troubled times ahead and give wisdom for our leaders (muslim or not) to do good.
