Every time I am out and about, I look to my left and right.
To the furthest point that my eye can see.
All I saw are fellow Malaysians.
Ordinary people.
Each hurrying and darting about.
Varying from those unhurried walks to frantic paces.
Each going about with their own worries and stories.
Each going about their daily routine and tasks.
All has one single shared objective.
How to put food on the table, everyday for their loved ones at home.
This is the quiet, unyielding pulse of everyday life in Malaysia.
Amidst rising living costs, the hustle of the ordinary citizen is a powerful reminder that our shared humanity and the drive to care for our loved ones binds us all.
It is exactly this daily hustle that highlights the importance of making sure our everyday efforts go as far as possible
I dont see any of these people, fellow Malaysians who appeared to be a racist and religious fanatic.
Within the ordinary rakyat, I constantly read news of cases like Nicky and the mechanic who helped him and refused to accept any payment upon noticing Nicky, a fellow Malaysian but of a different ethnic descent, have only a small sum left in his T&G e wallet.
But in the mainstream and social media, I read of hate, threats etc, all from the politicians and their paid ilks.
All are designed to pit one race and religion against others.
With each news driving the wedge further and further in.
And it appears that they have been successful in their tasks.
If you notice, a large part of those who support the politicians loses their ability to process facts rationally even when truth is placed directly in front of them.
A lot of analysts always say until and unless politicians stop using racial and religious identity as mere tools for political leverage, this ethno-religious political culture will continue.
Stop blaming the politicians.
Why do we, the ordinary rakyat, allow ourselves to be USED by the politicians in their game of thrones?
If we, the ordinary Malaysians does not allowed them, these politicians can’t get into our heads.
Politicians are NOT "protectors" of the ordinary rakyat.
They are the servants of the ordinary rakyat.
Every individual Malaysian.
We, Malaysians, have to rise up and think rationally.
If we, Malaysians, use our votes rationally and logically, these politicians will be voted out.
Yes, our individual vote changes nothing.
As shown in Nov 2022, the 15th GE, these politicians will regroup and continue with the status quo and its grip on the country.
Solution : Vote them out.
Except when they need your votes, every of the politicians will just cast aside their interests in the ordinary rakyat, ignoring them at every turn.
We, the ordinary Malaysians should do the same to all these politicians.
Ignore them when it comes to election time.
Vote them out if they continue to ignore you.
We, the ordinary rakyat, holds the most powerful card in our hand.
We, the ordinary rakyat, can hire and fire them every 5 years.
If we, the ordinary rakyat, collectively, act hand in hand every 5 years, we should be able to get out from this cesspool of ethno-religious political culture that pits one race and religion against another.
Remember, the majority of the ordinary rakyat are not racists or religious fanatics.
It is the politicians that are planting that seed into our minds telling the country and the ordinary rakyat that we are.
