The country will not be rescued if you don't. They are essential for re-formatting our society into a glorious people-centric nation.
Will you then decide who you will vote for? Or you don't want to think about the candidates? Why not let the last moment at the polling booths decide on your whims?
Almost hour on the hour daily you are bombarded by the propaganda of political parties. They are registered to push up their candidates by all means legal or foul. Some advertise their qualifications which upon scrutiny emerge as false or faked.
The cyber troopers, propaganda exhibitionists, and PR consultants. Even religionists and weirdos plus the odd insane in Bomoh clothing are out there spewing their messages (For space saving we bundle them under one description: soothsayers).
Are you the wiser with these millions of words graphs and pictures including caricatures thrown at you?
Has anyone asked the voters not to vote so and so? Among friends these names are many. In public, there is no perfect urging for such action.
A few pretending to speak for the creator warn you not to vote for specific groupings. You need not worry. These few may instead go to hell for trivialising God. Ensure there is no commercialisation of God and no politicising of religions. This will safeguard goodwill among people and tranquillity in the community.
Willie Nelson sang in Texas in 2018 the song "Vote them out" if you don't like who's there (meaning in our context Members of Parliament or ADUN). This can be the battle cry among the political parties. Of course, you cannot vote them out. Instead, you don't vote them in.
Willie was born in 1933 and married 4 times (I guess a few of you will stop reading to figure out if he is a Muslim).
Remember every vote counts. But if there is cheating or rigging then the whole system is in trouble. The culprits can get in while the honest are systematically kept out. That can destroy any country. Are you assured ours is clean?
The soothsayer's pride is in cajoling, suggesting, recommending or advising that you vote for persons who believe in the hereafter, have given contracts, or are friendly. Many candidates have proved beyond reasonable doubt that they robbed, stole, defrauded, or embezzled. But soothsayers continue to support them.
The businesses will decide on the incoming government. They only care about income and profits. So the people who have given or will give them contracts (at inflated prices for kickbacks) will get their votes. Look back and see the PM's and ministers who served under business tycoons. You were aware but did not realise.
Very little is placed on candidates of integrity (Warren Buffet loves this) and are thoroughly honest and ethical. When every MP or ADUN possess these qualities the voters and other residents can sleep soundly knowing that our nation is in safe hands. The agencies will be correctly supervised (not politically controlled). The three arms of government will function smoothly.
Management guru Drucker places the effective span at 8. I'll allow 10 or 12 (the usual Dirty Dozens) ministries. Consider our country and population. Any extra cabinet Menteri leads to the wastage of money equipment manpower and office space. Bigger number brings inefficiency and conflicts. They will fail to dovetail their programmes.
States or companies with excessive employees do not gain. Instead, they retrogress or become bankrupt. Workers lose jobs. Families suffer. Having too many cabinet Menteri and then deputies and deputies to deputies plus assistants and more assistants to assistants do not empower our officers. They weaken.
So When you (and others who may not have read this piece to help them) vote for the selfless MPs and ADUNs then our nation will once again regain our front and top places in Asean and globally. Our pride or Maruah regained.
Those who have visited the Asean States feel awkward about the past 40 years. We were at par with South Korea. It is now so beautiful with parks lakes best roads and everything modern. Vietnam War-torn and divided is now a global player.
Cross the border into Thailand. Their goods both from foreign countries and locally produced are of top quality at reasonable prices. Their people and those in Indonesia have a better command of English to push them ahead. Many MNCs relocated to Thailand and Indonesia from our shores. Best I don't mention Singapore.
We have more than sufficient evidence of corruption and criminality riches from dubious sources of the candidates. But the voters are still not sure. Blame education.
No need to talk about this. So many ministers came and went. But the syllabus and true objectives of the schools and IHL have not been thought through. I submit sessions on thinking and character building must be included for assurance that our nation can progress. Also to speed up development.
Bleak future? Gloomy? Rains and thunderstorms after the elections? And we get the wrong people. That's a bad sign. Rue the day your relatives, friends, neighbours and others you do not know did not do right.
