OPPO’s latest flagship lineup, the Find X9 series has launched in Malaysia, bringing the next-gen premium experience powered by the brand’s renowned camera tech plus the newly upgraded ColorOS 16.
The Find X9 Pro takes the head charge here, equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and knowing OPPO is a close partner with MediaTek, they’ve given extra optimizations to make sure it runs the best.
The phone comes with a sleek, corner-mounted camera design that seems simplified beautifully compared to the “overly-unique” look in past iterations, which is good to me personally. The surface is also less textured now for a clean and polished hand feel.
Aside from a top-of-the-line screen as expected, this generation’s flagship is focusing on the 200MP Super Zoom capable of maintaining details of subjects even when they are several meters away.
And yes, OPPO is really serious this time around in terms of making its smartphone into a pseudo DLSR-like device. Enter the Hasselblad Teleconverter, an optional accessory that users can buy that mounts easily on the back for even larger distances of photographing.
On the other hand, the base model Find X9 receives a fair bit of “downgrade” – And that’s the periscope telephoto lens + front camera, smaller battery, and screen. Otherwise, everything else is the same, making this a real sweet choice among the casual who want something premium without over-investing themselves.
But sadly, this new Velvet Red color is exclusive to the base model. IMO, the last thing you wanna trouble customers is to inflict dilemma when they wanna spend money.
And as part of the user experience upgrade, the ColorOS 16 is now smarter thanks to more AI powering interesting features. OPPO also integrated the new Snap Key that replaces the classic alert slider, adding programmable shortcuts, while the new Mind Space feature acts as an AI-powered assistant for notes, memos, and reminders—blending practicality with intelligent organization.
Here’s a quick specs run-down for both of them:
