OPPO Malaysia has done something fun recently, and it is a short film featuring the man who loves his dog the most – “Johan Nick”.
This little project is produced and directed by local filmmakers AREKA, the high-octane action story unfolds in neon-lit Kuala Lumpur, following the gritty titular character played by actor Niezam Zaidi on a quest for redemption.
It carries the renowned style of Baba Yaga himself through the visual language of Hollywood thrillers, and is shot with the incredible 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto Camera and 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording of the OPPO Find X9 Pro.
Other than that, they also used the Hasselblad Teleconverter, delivering unmatched clarity and zoom performance that captures the neon-noir visuals without relying on cutting-edge equipment, and instead, just a “delicate tube installed on the back of a smartphone” that can be used by anyone, showing how far the smartphone camera tech has matured.
Johan Nick continues OPPO’s ongoing effort to merge storytelling and innovation, following previous cinematic projects like Anuharan’s Thaipusam Journey (Find N5) and Generasi Bebas (Reno14 Series), reinforcing the brand’s belief that technology should empower creators to bring every story to life beautifully.
