
LAHAD DATU: Police have arrested five individuals, including two women, on suspicion of involvement in prostitution activities.
District police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the suspects, aged 18, were detained during Ops Noda at a hotel here on Sunday night.
The operation was carried out by the Crime Investigation Division of the District Police Headquarters.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the group had been engaged in such activities since May this year, charging between RM150 and RM300 through an online application.
Police also seized several items including smartphones, condoms, hotel receipts and room keys, and investigations are ongoing under Section 372A/372B of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
