Kota Kinabalu: Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) in Sabah, especially those with factories are urged to go for automation and computerised production for better quality of products and reduce dependence on foreign workers.
Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industries, Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong said such move could also make the SMEs move forward which is also in line with the Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0 and could speed up the production of goods, especially attending to big volumes of export orders.
In addition, he said it could also reduce SMEs’ dependence on foreign workers as well as operational costs by having a production of technology-oriented products and services.
