Spain coach Luis de la Fuente plans to call up Osasuna striker Chimy Avila.
Rosario-born Avila also qualifies for Argentina and is on the radar of their World Cup winning coach Lionel Scaloni.
However, De la Fuente is making a move for the experienced striker.
An invitation has been sent to Avila to accept a place in Spain's extended preliminary squad - and he has accepted.
Avila has scored eight goals in 25 games for Osasuna this season.
