Awards season will come to a close with the Oscars 2024, which will take place this weekend.

The latest round of movies, actors and directors in contention for trophies will compete for prizes at the Los Angeles ceremony, with Oppenheimer, Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon leading the tally.

As ever, the usual snubs and surprised led to outrage among film fans, but it’s mostly agreed this year’s pack is an exciting mix if many of the winners are fairly easy to predict. (Cough, Oppenheimer, cough.)
