While the weather might not be as cold as previous Octobers, the El Nino phenomenon continues, so a heated clothes airer should be top of your shopping list this Prime Day. And I’ve found discounts on everything from compact models to larger drying racks as the colder, wetter weather sets in.
The 48-hour event runs from 6-7 October, with savings across home appliances, tech, beauty and more. As with Amazon’s summer Prime Day sale, the offers are reserved for Prime members, although you can sign up quickly and there’s also a 30-day free trial available for new customers.
Here at IndyBest, the team and I are combing through the sale and comparing prices on products our experts have already tried and tested, so we can point you towards the reductions that are actually worth considering.
Among the deals, we’ve spotted the coverless version of our best heated airer is on sale (Amazon.co.uk), while another one of our expert-approved models – the Status portable heated clothes airer – is now down to £38.25 (Amazon.co.uk) from its usual £84.95. Here’s everything you need to know about these Prime Day heated airer deals, plus more reductions on our tried and tested recommendations.

Status portable heated clothes airer
In our review of the best heated clothes airers, home appliances expert Jo Plumridge dubbed this Status model as the best winged heated clothes airer, and she was impressed with how much laundry she could fit onto it.
While this airer is a winged design, it does also fold away for easy storage in between use – it is 6cm wide once folded down. When it came to cutting down on laundry drying times, Jo found that the “optional cover helps to speed up drying times impressively”.

The airer is discounted to less than half price in Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, but it’s not just its upfront cost that makes it a budget-freindly buy, as it only costs about 6.5p per hour to run.

Black + Decker 3-tier heated airer
Black + Decker's heated airer was dubbed the best-designed model in Jo Plumridge's guide to the best heated airers. She described the appliance as standing “out from the crowd thanks to its slightly wider-spaced rails” and praised its sturdy design. It's reduced by more than £50 at Amazon, but you don't need to be a Prime member to take advantage of this discount. Likewise, it's also reduced by the same amount at Robert Dyas, so you've got your pick of the retailers.

Lakeland dry:soon deluxe 3-tier heated airer
Lakeland dry:soon deluxe 3-tier heated airer and cover was the top model in Jo Plumridge's guide to the best heated airers, and we've spotted the model without the cover is on sale for Amazon Prime Day.
“The best heated clothes airer I tested, it fits 15kg of wet washing onto 21m of drying space, which is equivalent to a couple of loads for those with an 8kg washing machine,” she said.
Jo was particularly impressed with how many ways you can use the airer, as she explained: “As well as unfolding all the shelves, you can choose to only fold out some and leave others vertical, or you can transform the airer into a cabinet style so that you can hang clothes instead.”
