KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 — As of June this year, 1,167 small and medium enterprise (SME) workplaces across the country have participated in the Stepwise OSH Level Verification and Enhancement for Small and Medium Enterprises (SOLVE 4 SME) programme.

The office of the director-general of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH) said this participation has surpassed the department’s target and benefited 70,824 SME workers.

“The SOLVE 4 SME programme aims to involve 1,000 SME workplaces over five years, from 2021 to 2025,” it said in a statement today, in conjunction with the SOLVE 4 SME Convention in Kajang.

The convention, the first since the introduction of SOLVE 4 SME, was attended by 400 SME participants and officiated by Human Resource Ministry (MOHR) deputy secretary-general (operations) Sutekno Ahmad Belon.

SOLVE 4 SME is a systematic programme by MOHR via DOSH to enhance occupational safety and health standards in the SME sector.
