PADANG BESAR: More than 100,000 domestic and international visitors came to Perlis during the two-week school holiday period in December, says State Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Development Committee chairman Wan Badariah Wan Saad.

Based on the encouraging numbers, she said the state government was optimistic about reaching the target of more than 3.5 million tourist arrivals in conjunction with Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025.

“We will continue to promote Perlis on every platform so that more people know about Perlis and the uniqueness it offers, and that our target of 3.5 million tourists for Visit Perlis Year could even increase,“ she said.

She made the remarks after a tourist welcome programme held at the Freshwater Fish Sanctuary in Timah Tasoh, near here today.

Meanwhile, Wan Badariah suggested that the residents of Perlis could seize the opportunity to boost their side income by providing car rental services to tourists visiting the state. - Bernama
