SEMPORNA: Over 100 houses and a mosque in three villages were damaged by strong winds early Sunday morning.

The incident, which occurred around 5am, also affected 20 vehicles.

AdvertisementDistrict Fire and Rescue Station chief Madzlan Sarman said his department received a distress call at 6.21am and promptly dispatched a team of Fire and Rescue personnel to the scene using two fire engines.

“Upon arrival, our team found that houses and vehicles in Kampung Selamat, Kampung Seri Aman, and Kampung Sejati had been affected by the strong winds,” he said.

Madzlan said continuous monitoring will be conducted in the affected areas to ensure public safety.
