Over 10mil Singaporean visit Malaysia in first half of 2026

SINGAPORE, Sept 11 - Malaysia recorded over 10.74 million tourist arrivals from Singapore in the first half of 2026.

This is a 4.39 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.

Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin said the increase reflected Singaporeans' enduring affection for Malaysia, which goes beyond geographical proximity.

“This close bond is reflected in this year's travel surge," she said during the launch of the Rasa Malaysia 2026 campaign on Friday.

Held in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026, Rasa Malaysia is a culinary showcase highlighting Malaysia's rich and diverse flavours, taking place at JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia.

The initiative, running from September 11 to October 9, marks Tourism Malaysia’s second major culinary collaboration in Singapore this year.

It reflects the ongoing efforts to promote Malaysia's diverse gastronomic heritage and strengthen awareness of the country's tourism offerings among Singaporean consumers and international visitors.

The showcase is also supported by the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) and the Sabah Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STTOS), with the support of the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore.
